To Legally Marry in Australia the guidelines are:

  • Over 18 years of age
  • Both parties have full consenting to marry the other person
  • Cannot married to any other person.
  • Cannot be related to the other person.
  • Allow one months’ notice prior to your ceremony.
  • Voluntarily willing to enter the marriage for life.
  • Provision of evidence of both parties Identity and birthplace.

To get started – Please don’t leave it to the last minute as the Witnessed NOIM (Notice of Intent to Marriage) needs to be lodged with the celebrant no later than one month prior to the wedding date.

Those born in Australia will require their original birth certificate or Australian passport.

Those born outside of Australia will require their original birth certificate and Overseas passport to be sighted.

Depending on certain circumstances we may require more official documentation.
